Change and Choose

After entering college, I feel a little annoyed when I am alone. The college life is so different from the life of the senior high school that sometimes I can not adapt. Facing these changes, I want to avoid or even refuse to think about them. I am exciting on Fridays because I can go home. On the other hands, I feel upset every Monday because I have to return to school.

There are many problems which we have to solve it by ourselves. We need to make time to prepare tests, reports and join some activities that we MUST have to take part in, or we will feel lonely when everyone talks about it. Well, doing everything good is difficult to me. I do not like the feeling that things are out of my control, but now I understand it is unavoidable. Facing these changes of life, I need to choose the thing that is important to me. I think we will face more annoying things in the future, but I am trying to learn how to adapt the challenges in my life and make the good choices that I will not regret. However, I think being alone and thinking is a good way to clear my mind, and it makes me relax.

  1. Dear Kathy,
I'm Vivian. I think that your painting in which a lonely but cool girl sits on the floor directly and vividly shows your feelings about your college life. College life is totally of great difference from life in senior high school. First, in senior high school, all of the classmates took the same classes as me, so it was easier for me to get more intimate with my classmates. However, in college, classmates take different classes and thus it takes longer time to get closer with classmates. In addition, time management is also an enormous challenge in college life. We need to manage our time to do homework, to hang out with friends, to study, and so on. Although there are many difficulties we have to be faced with, I think we will learn a lot from them as long as we hold a positive attitude toward them all the time!

    1. Dear Vivian:
Even though the girl in my painting is cool, I am not a person who is hard to get close as her!XD Sometimes, I did feel lonely in college life, but I think we have to get used to be alone. Someone told me that we have to try a new method to make friends. We don't need to spend all time to get along with our classmates, but we still can make close friends or make others like to be with us. I think holding the positive attitude can help us have a good college life!:D

  2. I couldn’t agree with you anymore. Entering the college means that we have to lead another way of life, which is quite different from the one in our high school. In the past, we used to spend almost the whole day with our classmates; however, it becomes difficult to make friends with all the students on the class since everyone chooses various classes. So, all we can do now is participating in activities as more as possible.
Is the picture your portrait? It looks cool. I guess you must be a member of a club of art, aren’t you?

    1. I hope I can be more active to make new friends!:P I talked to you last week, and I think we can chat with each others.XD However, I do not like to take part in too many activities because I would like to have some time to do what I love.

Yes,I drew it. I am not a member of the art club because I had joined the art club in my senior high. I am a member of the yoga club, but I seldom go.:P

  3. You used many times of 'annoy' to express your emotion in university, I think everyone does too. You have only few time to get alone with yourself. Though the atmosphere is annoying, you still fill lonely. Cheer up, maybe you should find some new friend to get alone with you.

  4. Dear Kathy,
There are many difference between college and high school life. For instance, we need to wear uniform to school in high school, but we get many choice of our clothes to take classes. It means that we have to take responsibility of our behave. Not like in high school, we don't take full responsibility when we make mistakes. Although it would be a hard time to get used to it in freshman, it is also a great moment to make ourselves grown up, becoming a mature man.
